Students of the Department of Pharmacy Received Certificates of Training Program

 

As a part of the collaborative research between the Department of Pharmacy, UAP and Faculty of Pharmacy, Kanazawa University, Japan the first phase of the research project ‘KU-UAP Project of Combating Substandard and Falsified Medicines in Dhaka’ has successfully been completed. Prof. Dr. Kazuko Kimura and Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan are the Principal Investigators of Japan and Bangladesh respectively.

Before commencement of the second phase of the project, a Training Program on sampling technique had been arranged at UAP in September 2019. The students from different batches of the Department of Pharmacy participated the training program which was conducted by Prof. Kimura, Prof. Bhuiyan and our faculty (on special leave) Dr. Sofiqur Rahman.

Certificates of the training program have been distributed among the participating student in January 2020 at the Department of Pharmacy, UAP. The Director of the Office of International Affairs (OIA) Dr. Nehreen Majed and Head of the Department Prof. Dr. Swarnali Islam Khandaker were invited as Guests at the ceremony which was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan. Among others Dr. Md. Ahsanul Haque and Md. Asaduzzaman were present.

Dr. Nehreen Majed congratulated all the participants and inspired them to take part in similar types of workshops to improve their knowledge and to develop the skills to make their resume competent enough for doing better in their career. Dr. Swarnali Islam Khandaker also appreciated the participation of the students and thanked Dr. Majed for attending the meeting.

At the end Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan briefed about the latest updates of the research project and officially handed over the signed MoU (between UAP and Kanazawa University) to the Director of OIA.
